Countdown to Bluewave Days 2026: A week dedicated to Mediterranean regeneration

The countdown has begun for the Bluewave movement to return to our shores with a new edition of Bluewave Days. From June 6th to 14th, we will roll out an agenda full of action, knowledge, and community to continue driving the restoration of our sea together.

Bluewave Days 2026 are on the horizon with a proposal that combines high-level scientific outreach with active citizen participation. For nine days, various points along the coast will become epicenters of ocean action, culminating in a key institutional day at Barcelona's Port Olímpic.

This edition seeks to consolidate the spirit of our "blue community," inviting experts, companies, and citizens to move from concern to action through experiences that connect emotion, knowledge, and real impact on the ecosystem.

Bluewave Fest: The sea as a stage for action

One of the pillars is the Bluewave Fest, a series of sessions across the Mediterranean coast dedicated to sustainable diving and environmental conservation. The festival offers around 60 activities designed to integrate marine protection into our relationship with the shore.

Highlights of the activities open for participation include:

  • Seabed and beach cleanups: Collective actions where volunteers and divers work together to remove waste from the natural environment.
  • Panoramic collection routes: Sailing through high ecological value areas, combining boat trips with informative talks and cleaning hard-to-access coves.
  • Guided dives with biologists: Diving trips with a rigorous yet engaging focus to learn about local biodiversity and species recovery projects.
  • Visits to green infrastructure: Practical introductions to the ecological benefits of biotopes and nature-based solutions to restore coastal life.

You can sign up for the activities through this link.

Bluewave Symposium and Awards

The week will culminate on June 11th in Barcelona with the Bluewave Symposium. This exchange forum will give a voice to scientists, entrepreneurs, and leaders sharing the most innovative solutions to protect the Mediterranean.

The day will conclude with the Awards Night, our gala evening where the Bluewave Awards will be presented. These awards recognize the career paths of professionals that contribute exceptionally to bringing life back to the sea through science, conservation, or outreach.

Because the health of the Mediterranean is not just a goal, but the legacy we choose to build today: every dive, every data point, and every small action is a wave that, joined with others, has the power to transform the future of our ocean.
