The movement Bluewave Alliance continues to add strength. We closed 2025 driven by a shared purpose and the conviction that the recovery of our seas is possible through collaboration. This year, we have succeeded in mobilizing more than 4,500 people in initiatives designed to restore health and beauty to our marine environment.

Our global presence has also been consolidated through participation in first-rate international forums and events, where we have shared our vision of restoration. However, the heart of our social activity has been the Bluewave Days: our reference days that have covered the Mediterranean coast combining a scientific symposium, the award of our Bluewave Awards and +60 awareness-raising activities around the Mediterranean coast that unite the community around the protection of the sea.

Through innovation and commitment, these have been the actions that have driven our mission during 2025:

  • Plastic removal with Gravity Wave: In 2025, we reached a historic milestone by completing the removal of 500 tons of plastic from our seas. This sustained effort since 2023 demonstrates our commitment to cleaning the ocean, transforming waste into an opportunity for regeneration.

  • Posidonia reforestation in Ses Salines: Together with the Vellmarí Association, we have planted more than 37,000 seedlings of Posidonia oceanica in the Ses Salines Natural Park (Ibiza and Formentera). Using techniques that protect the natural environment, we guarantee the healthy growth of this key species.

  • Gorgonian Restoration Project: Together with Ocean Ecostructures, we have worked on the recovery of 30 marine species. The use of ROV technology made it possible to reduce costs and risks, achieving 100% survival and growth of up to 564%.

  • Documentary Waves of Tomorrow: In collaboration with Odicean Studios, the first episode was screened at the IMAX Room in Barcelona in front of 450 people and we have shot two new episodes in the Balearic Islands and Cabo de Palos. These pieces not only document current biodiversity, but they project a future of hope for marine conservation.

  • Citizen Science with Ocean Observers: This project, promoted by the ICM, has involved more than 600 participants and conducted more than 370 marine censuses. This network of volunteers is essential to strengthen the social connection with the ocean and to provide valuable scientific data.

  • Condrik Tenerife Expedition: This year, we carried out 12 field campaigns with the Condrik Tenerife team using BRUV technology and drones, totaling 100 hours of sea time. 14,500 hectares were monitored, recording the presence of 6 different species of elasmobranchs.

  • SeaSpore Project: We continue to make progress in our own initiative that unites art, technology and science. This year marked a decisive step with the beginning of the carbonation process of the first SeaSpore on the coast of Barcelona, a sculpture designed to recover biodiversity and connect society with underwater life.

  • Environmental education with Kids by the sea: In partnership with Oceavida, we have taught more than 60 talks to 2,500 students of 30 schools. This initiative is vital to make new generations aware of the protection of our coastline.

Kids by the sea is a children's education project in marine conservation.

  • Dive Camp of the Vellmarí Association: We have collaborated in the training of young people between 8 and 17 years old, who through diving have discovered the richness of the seabed, awakening in them an active passion for conservation.

  • Children's story Keni, the Little Whale: With the help of our dreamer Alex Avello, we have released this new story of marine conservation. It is a key educational tool for children to discover the importance of protecting ocean ecosystems through narrative and emotion.

  • Art and Conservation in the Bluewave Space: We believe that art is a powerful awareness-raising tool. Our space has hosted several exhibitions that demonstrate that aesthetics and the protection of the sea must go hand in hand.

Everything achieved this year is just the beginning of what we can achieve together. Your support is the energy that drives this wave: the more we are, the further our impact will go on the regeneration of the Mediterranean. In 2026, we invite you to join this collective commitment to continue bringing life back to our sea.

Together we are Bluewave Alliance.
Join the movement. Join the wave.
